The bird landed for a shrórt encounter at the GRASP knowledge Festival...

The Imprint Exercise took place at Earthbound Symposium 2025 in search for the dance which is truly shared between soil, water, mud, clay, bones, skin and flesh.

The bird visited Sisimut and Sarfannguit hosted by choreographer Elisabeth Heilmann Blind and filmphotographer Aká Hansen, who took the bird into encounters with the local community.

The bird landed in Steindalsbreen in Sápmi and unfolded a gathering in the hands of choreographer Camilla Therese Karlsen, filmphotographer Ørjan Bertelsen and member of the local community.

Working with the Compositions of Care network has been a profound journey of exploring aging, growth, and dementia through new lenses. Questions like "Does every older person become an elderly?" and "What does it mean to become old?" have guided our reflections, challenging us to rethink societal perceptions of aging.

Og at alle danserne var så dygtige til at tage hånd om de ældre. Også det at alle kan være med. Det er lige meget om du sidder i en kørestol eller at din krop knapt kan bevæge sig.”

“To be part of this project means to be alive. To do something new and at the same time familiar.”

Hanna-Liisa Liikanen was in the audience when Happy End was performed at the care center Käpyrinne Ry in Helsinki, and said afterwards: “[the performance] was a fantastic example of artistic activity implemented by professional dancers (…) It gave the elderly persons an artistic experience but most of all impacted their wellbeing.”

Iben Munnecke og Catlen Gjøl er aktivitetsmedarbejdere på plejehjemmene Slottet og Aftensolen. De har begge haft en meget positiv oplevelse af samarbejdet med NextDoor Project-holdet på HAPPY END. Her deler de deres erfaringer set fra plejehjemmets side.

Når en 93-årig kvinde taler om lykken, så danser hun

”dans vækker noget inde i en. Det er i det hele taget livsbekræftende, når man får inspiration og input. Det kan også være noget, man læser eller hører i fjernsynet. Så længe man kan følge med, betyder det meget for en at være aktiv. Det er jo ikke alle, der kan det. Men det er vigtigt, for så er man en del af nuet. Man lever.

Fotograf Per Morten Abrahamsen har set de ældre kroppe i Happy End gennem kameralinsen. Han følger projektet rundt i Norden og har en anerkendt baggrund som både kunst- og kommerciel fotograf. Når han går i gang med sin fotografiske undersøgelse af et menneske eller en situation, så leder han altid efter historier, der vækker en genklang i ham selv. Noget, som rører noget i hans egen historie. ”Det er kun en lille sprække ind til et menneske, som jeg finder med fotografiet.”

”Jeg kunne sagtens have siddet to timer mere – lyttet og set på. Musikken var meget flot, den måde den forvandlede sig fra original melodi over i en mere fremmed og mystisk verden var meget flot.”

KVF på besøg!

Jeg spørger Áslaug, hvilket råd hun vil give til andre ældre, der skal deltage i projekter. Hun svarer uden at tænke sig om: ”Udtryk dine følelser uden tøven.”

”Det har smittet af på beboerne, at performerne har et så stærkt nærvær, og at respekten stråler ud af hver eneste handling. Det er en gave at få nogle mennesker ind i plejehjemmet, som forstår at følelsen i mennesker ikke dør, selvom de måske ikke længere husker, taler, rører sig eller udtrykker sig klart. Det er den største sejr, at de har givet de ældre muligheden for at få følelsen eller livsgnisten ind i livet igen”.

I et lille kontor med vindue ud til fællesarealet sidder ergoterapeut Hildur Þráinsdóttir. Hun arbejder på Sóltún og har fulgt med i HAPPY END processen både som professionel og som pårørende til en af de deltagende beboere. Hendes mor har deltaget i projektet.

Morgunbladid på besøg

Anne Katrine Møller Haase fra Københavns Kommunes Sundheds- og Omsorgsforvaltning var forbi HAPPY END på plejehjemmet SLOTTET. Hun har lavet en kort reportage til Københavns Kommunes intranet.
