Bird Landing in Abisko

Forside
In Abisko, the bird witnessed a landscape in transition.
Frozen lakes, endless skies, and water moving between states, ice, snow, mist, river. A place where silence feels alive and the immensity of nature becomes impossible to ignore.
As winters change, ecosystems shift, and seasons no longer follow familiar rhythms, the bird travelled alongside the people who call this place home, people whose lives, work, and memories are closely connected to this landscape.
Through observation, shared moments, a movement gathering, and documenting these encounters, the bird encountered experiences, memories, and reflections on change.
At our residence at Abisko Scientific Research Station, science and art met around a shared curiosity about how a changing landscape can be felt as well as understood
Grateful for the people, the place, and the Arctic landscape that continues to echo long after leaving it behind.
